Jaguar’s previous flagship sedan was pretty but cramped and based on a platform dating from the late 1980s. The new-for-2004, aluminum-intensive XJ wipes the slate clean with a larger, more modern, yet still beautiful machine that again makes Jag a player in this class. Our platinum-over-black, supercharged XJR has it all: a blown 4.2-liter, 390-horsepower V-8, six-speed automatic transmission, sport-tuned air suspension, adaptive cruise control, dynamic stability control, and reverse park aid, just to name a few amenities.
