We’ve chosen Great Fryup Dale, in the midst of the North York Moors, as our base location, because Sarah and Philip Thurlow, local riders and now hosts, have created an impressive facility here called the Yorkshire Cycle Hub. As the name suggests, it’s aimed at both roadies and mountain bikers, and its converted barns now offer not just stunning panoramic views across the valley from its cafe, but a bike shop, workshop, bike hire, bike wash, changing rooms, showers and accommodation. The Hub’s location means there’s some great riding straight out of the door, with something suitable for all abilities.
You can enjoy cruising along the wide, open tracks along the tops of the moor or search out the more challenging singletrack along the ancient packhorse trails, while riding up…
