It’s hard to believe it’s May. To all the year-rounders on the Paradise Coast, in years past the month used to signal what we considered the end of the season—and along with it, the longawaited opportunity to drive down Pine Ridge Road in less than an hour, a chance to get in to your hairdresser on a whim and find a parking spot within walking distance of the entrance to your grocery store. What May brings now is just the end of the major events of the social season. There is so much more to this area that has captured the hearts of our visitors that many are increasingly switching their part-time status to become full-time Neapolitans. Many have discovered what we’ve known all along, that Naples and the surrounding…
It is hard to believe this month marks two years since the passing of our beloved publisher and friend, Ron Woods. Though his absence has left an enormous void, his vision is still very much a part of our culture. Since acquiring this company in 1991, Ron had big plans. Under his guidance, all of our magazines became leaders in their respective markets—thanks to an unyielding commitment to lofty production values, captivating and superbly illustrated content, and successful advertising partnerships—and remain firmly on that track today. Another of Ron’s goals was to continue to grow and to invest in the future—both through our products and our people. Just as he did, we cherish the team of creative individuals who make this company what it is, and we enjoy watching them…

Riding the wave of victory, Hap Fauth, an accomplished sailor and Naples resident, heads back to the sea for the next of several worldwide regatta events planned this year aboard his Maxi 72 yacht, the Bella Mente. In February, Fauth and his international team of 26 sailors were declared the overall champions of the 2015 RORC Caribbean 600, a 600-mile race around 11 Caribbean islands. After tackling Les Voiles de St. Barth in the Caribbean in the spring, Fauth will take Bella Mente to the United Kingdom, where he and his team will set sail on the challenging waters of the Solent, the strait separating the Isle of Wight from England’s mainland, for two more races before starting the world-class Rolex Fastnet Race in August. “We finally have a rig…
In his far too brief life, Steven Leonard, who perished in a fire in February, created a lasting, positive effect on countless lives in and around Naples. As his good friend and colleague William Boyajian, owner of Port Royal Jewelers, recalls, it was Leonard who initiated a kind of charity dossier years ago, amassing a broad list of local nonprofits that their company would support, from the Humane Society Naples, to the Sunshine Kids, the Naples Zoo, the Guadalupe Center, Opera Naples and many others. “He said, ‘We can’t be the biggest jeweler in town, but we can have the biggest heart,’” Boyajian says. Following Leonard’s tragic death, Boyajian felt the need to make something good out of a very sad situation, so he founded The Steven Leonard Diamond Award…
