PLANTING A SEED
My 8-year-old granddaughter, Kate, was offered white or seed-and-grain bread for her lunch. “Fresh bread, the white one,” she replied insistently, “the seed bread is stale.” We were puzzled how she decided that, when both were very fresh. “Oh Gran,” she replied. “You know the other day you said the potatoes had gone to seed and they were past their use-by, well look at the seed-and-grain bread – it’s sure gone to seed.” TRICIA HUNT, WYNN VALE, SA.
