Thomas Markle Jr has shown New Idea emails sent from his lawyer to Kensington Palace begging them to help him with press intrusion. On Nov. 2, 2017, just weeks before Prince Harry and Meghan’s engagement was announced, Thomas emailed his attorney, Chris Cauble, asking for advice on what to do when approached by the media.
Chris, a partner in a small Grants Pass, Oregon, law firm, suggests Thomas contact the palace directly, adding that Meghan should “empathise with you” and offer advice, seemingly referencing an earlier email sent to them by the royal household in which Meghan refers to her half-brother as a “distant” family member.
