Ed Sheeran is in legal trouble – again – this time over his 2014 single, ‘Thinking Out Loud’. The pop singer has been accused of stealing from the harmony of R&B legend Marvin Gaye’s iconic 1973 hit, ‘Let’s Get It On’. Ed’s lawyers sought to have the case dismissed, arguing that the alleged similarities in chord progression and rhythm are not copyrightable. However, a judge has ruled the debate will need to be settled by a jury. Ed, 31, was previously sued over the song by the family of Ed Townsend, who co-wrote ‘Let’s Get It On’, which is still pending.
