Col. Edward Howland Robinson Green is well known in the coin hobby for his fabulous collection, which once included all five of the 1913 Liberty Head nickels, his lavish lifestyle, and the eccentric past of his mother, Hetty Green.
For the February 1966 issue of Coins magazine, James Woll penned a piece on Green. It was titled: “Ned Green: He had money when money was money, and when he bought coins, he bought.”
