WORKSHOP Dorsing with oil pastels Using oil pastels to colour on parchment is an alternative to colouring with blendable pencils. The colour is spread with a blending agent such as Zest-It, small amounts of white spirit or even essential oils. Usually this is done on the reverse of the parchment. The aim is to achieve colour without streaks. PAINTING Buddleia and hawkmoth Learn to paint on parchment by following the steps below, creating a beautiful design perfect for Mother's Day. COLOURING Trailing clematis Perfect your colouring skills with this beautiful image of a clematis, ideal for springtime. Academy newsletter Dear Readers, As we prepare to put the clocks forward again after the dark nights, we can start to look ahead to spring and the sense of renewal this time of year brings. As always, we are moving forward with a positive outlook on the parchment scene. Many classes have now started up and even with some Covid restrictions still needing to be observed in venues, they seem to be going well.
