Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number has been refused classification and effectively banned from sale in Australia.
The Classification Board who make classification decisions for films, computer games and certain publications deemed the highly anticipated sequel too offensive for Australian audiences, exceeding the bounds of the adults-only R18+ classification that was introduced in 2013. The original Hotline Miami received an MA15+ classification.
The Classification Board provided the following reason for their classification:
“The computer game is classified RC in accordance with the National Classification Code, Computer Games Table,
