COUNCIL RECYCLING
PAPER – including office paper, cardboard, newspapers, magazines, envelopes (even those with windows), pizza boxes and cardboard food containers (scrape off food remnants and rinse – they don’t need to be spotless).
GLASS BOTTLES & JARS – all glass excluding glass drinkware, oven-proof glassware, windows, mirrors, ceramics and broken glass.
PLASTIC CONTAINERS & BOTTLES – including from drinks, milk, ice cream, butter and yoghurt (usually featuring the numbers 1-7, but check which numbers your council supports). Remove bottle tops and lids (some councils may also accept these for recycling – check first).
COFFEE CUPS – things are changing rapidly in this area. Currently a limited number of councils (including Brisbane and the ACT) accept coffee cups, but only some of the materials can be recycled (not the plastic…
