The knock-on effect of improvements in new cars is a growing source of parts for affordable EV conversions, and it’s not just about going green. There’s a growing community of enthusiasts reverse-engineering electric powertrain to push the performance envelope a little further, and New Electric has begun offering conversion courses at its workshop in Ireland. One of the friendliest VAG-based race series is moving over to the track attack race club, Classic VW Cup has gone through a series of changes over the winter including the move to open up the classes somewhat to attract a greater range of competitors.
