Gimbal specialist Zhiyun has launched a new lightweight model, the The Crane-M2 S, aimed at “high-velocity, run-and-gun filmmakers”. It offers advanced features and broad camera compatibility, able to handle everything from a smartphone to a mirrorless camera, such as a Sony A7 III, with a small prime lens attached.
Despite advances in camera in-body stabilisation, a gimbal is still the best way to get smooth footage when you’re on the move. A gimbal doesn’t just stabilise the camera; it smooths out fast movements when you’re panning, tilting or walking/running with the camera.
Zhiyun is pitching the Crane-M2 S between its Crane-M2 and Crane-M3 models, with more features than the M2 and a lower price than the M3.
