The winners of the world’s largest photography competition, the CEWE Photo Award, have been announced, with Ariani Dikye crowned overall winner for her wonderfully atmospheric and dramatic image of locals playing cards in a village in Indonesia.
This year’s contest attracted a total of 509,612 entries from around the globe, based on the theme ‘Our world is beautiful’. The competition is free to enter, and photographers can submit up to 100 images, hence the vast number of entries. There are 10 categories, including People, Animals, Sports, Landscapes, and Travel and Culture, and for every entry CEWE donates 10 euro cents to the charity SOS Children’s Villages. The prize fund is in excess of 250,000 euros, and includes a bespoke trip of a lifetime for the overall winner, and photography gear.…
