I always think the end of one year and the beginning of another is an invitation – a gentle, hopeful invitation to begin again. But before you answer the invitation, I think it’s wise to take a minute. Because no matter how the past year has gone and whether it’s been joyful, exhausting, heart-opening or heartbreakingly hard, it’s good to pause to take stock. A moment to look back and ask, quietly: What mattered most? What do I want to carry forward? And what (or when?!) can I finally lay down?
