Coronavirus shuts down industry
The lockdown for the coronavirus has, in effect, shut down the industry, for the month of April.
Swift, Erwin Hymer UK, Bailey, Auto-Trail and Auto-Sleepers have all halted production, although in most cases, a management team is still working remotely to respond to customer queries by email.
At the time of writing, Bailey was hoping to reopen on 21 April and Swift on 4 May, while the others have yet to announce a return date. Swift, Bailey and Adria have also extended deadlines for warranty services – Swift and Bailey by four months, Adria by three.
Most van converters have closed, but many, including Rolling Homes and Auto Campers, are answering emails.
