It has been said that Virginia is for lovers.
They must have meant dinosaur lovers. Not to be confused with Vernal, Utah’s roadside mecca “Dinosaurland” (one word), Dinosaur Land in White Post, Virginia opened in 1967 after being expanded upon from a Civil War-themed roadside attraction called The Rebel Korn'r which opened four years earlier. In those days there were only a few but now the park features over fifty fiberglass statues of dinosaurs and other monstrous animals (King Kong, a 60 foot shark, giant cobra, etc.).
