The original Wondermega was a curious product, a combination Mega Drive and Mega-CD unit for a Japanese market that wasn’t tremendously excited about Sega’s hardware. There must have been something in it though, as Victor – better known as JVC here – released this second model just over a year later. The cost-reduced model was 25% cheaper than its predecessor, making it more affordable but still considerably more than the ¥42,600 that the recently released Mega Drive 2 and Mega-CD 2 would cost you.
