THE TERMINATOR
TIGER ELECTRONICS HANDHELD, 1988
■ Dedicated LCD games were just about holding on by the late-Eighties, and Tiger didn’t give up easily, flooding the market into the following decade. As you’d expect, this Terminator adaptation is limited, but somehow its gallery shooter gameplay entertains, at least for a short while, thanks chiefly to its variety of weaponry.
TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY
GAME BOY, 1991
■ Despite not following the plot of the film to any meaningful degree, this is a fun movie adaptation. Stepping into the shoes of the T-800, the game mixes eras across Cyberdyne’s offices, wastelands and a steel mill and controls well. While hardly ground breaking, it’s one of the better T2 games.
