IT SEEMED nothing could kill the Sportster after an uninterrupted 65-year run. But all that changed with the advent of Euro 5 emission regulations, which has prompted Harley-Davidson to discontinue manufacturing our favourite Harley engine. The name will live on in the form of the new Sportster S, but not much else. Gone forever is the air-cooled 45-degree OHV unit-construction motor, replaced by a liquid-cooled DOHC 60-degree V-twin derived from Harley’s Pan America adventure bike.
