Painting the Roses
Your April issue cover (New-look Red Roses) struck a chord with me. When I retired at 71, I took up painting and I have had some success. I have exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists, sold some work and painted to raise money for charity (RVS, SSAFA, St Mungo’s).
When I painted Queen Camilla, president of the Royal Voluntary Service, they presented my work to her at the Wembley Vaccination Centre and she wrote me a charming thank you letter.
