Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) is rolling out a comprehensive infrastructure maintenance and capital expansion programme across its nine airports.
ACSA’s national maintenance initiative has focused on high-impact infrastructure elements, including sewerage systems, ablution facilities, and fire escapes.
More than just structural improvements, these efforts are being bolstered by enhanced safety and hygiene protocols in high-traffic areas, designed to fortify security measures and elevate user experiences.
At the forefront of these enhancements is OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA), where a phased refurbishment of ablution facilities is currently underway.
This project, which commenced in December 2024, will comprehensively upgrade male, female, baby-change, and accessible amenities, aiming for completion by December 2025.
