Many remember the fantastic rallies on Elba, and the decision to relaunch the rally after a gap of eight years had been greeted enthusiastically.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the Lambretta Club Lombardia, Lambretta Club Tuscany, Lambretta Club Piemonte and the Italian Lambro Club, on the weekend of May 10-12, 152 scooters and several Lambros descended on the beautiful island.
Unlike the alcohol-fuelled rallies of old, this was more of an enthusiasts’ event with several superb ride outs, including one to Napoleon’s house.
Furthest ridden were four Germans from northern Bavaria, whilst aficionados had travelled from as far as San Francisco. The admission price of €90 was superb value and included two dinners, a lunch, goody bag, gelato, discounts on ferry tickets and even a back-up van.
