We’re a country of cruisers. According to the latest CLIA report, almost one in 20 Australians took an ocean cruise in 2024, one of the highest rates in the world. Expedition cruising has seen a constant flurry of growth as adventurers seek out voyages to far-flung places where big ships can’t go. As the name suggests, micro-cruising takes the size scale down even further. Usually with less than 50 passengers, and often as few as 12, this style of cruising is popular for nature lovers, extended families, friendship groups, solos, celebratory occasions, wildlife enthusiasts, and photography and special interest clubs.
