When I was young I made an angel tree decoration for my mum. It was one of the ones you colour in and then bake in the oven to seal the colours. Most crochet patterns state the tension required, in rows and stitches of a specific type. Make a swatch at least 15cm square and check that your tension matches. Place a ruler across the swatch and insert two pins, 10cm apart. Then place the ruler along a column of stitches and insert two pins 10cm apart.
