Recently, I was talking to my eight-year-old daughter about the concept of time. I asked her, “Does the past exist?” And she replied, “Yes”. I said, “Well, where is it?” She pondered for a moment, and then, in a lightbulb moment, she was quick to quip, “In our memories.” I said, “I think you're right”. We discussed the illusory concept of time and why it's important to make the most of every present moment. There will only ever be now. When the future arrives, it too becomes now. And suppose the past only exists in our memories, the tangible trails we leave behind are photos, film, art, music, literature, and all documented forms of creativity from great to small.
