Global printer sales in 2016 declines According to a report by IDC Japan - a Japanese unit of US research company IDC - inkjet and laser printer sales worldwide dropped 4.1% year-on-year to 33.03 million units in the year 2016. Many major suppliers posted declined growth rate: HP reported a drop of 8.4% from the previous year. Canon Inc. also posted a 1.5% decline while Epson’s sales have shown positive trends. In the fourth quarter of 2016, sales were favorable especially in the Asia Pacific region barring Japan. Sales of HP increased 4.3%, grabbing 36.1% market share and sales of Canon and Epson were also favourable, while sales of Brother Industry and Samsung declined, according to IDC Japan. To be a good portraitist, the photographer should be able to read and bring out the character of the sitter and should have good control over the effects of light and shade – after all, photography is an interplay between light and the shade/ shadows it casts. By merely looking at a subject, the photographer should be able to instantly decide what features of the subject need to be highlighted and what features should be subdued. Using the right nomenclature is the first step in understanding and mastering any subject. So, here is the nomenclature that we are going to use: Dumb Slave: These are simple non-dedicated flashes which have a built in optical sensor. They just fire when the optical sensor detects a light pulse. A dumb slave does not know who has generated the light pulse and hence will fire regardless of the source.
