BOOKS OF THE MONTH DELIGHTFULLY DIFFERENT FAIRY TALES by Lynn Roberts-Maloney, illustrated by David Roberts (Pavilion) certainly lives up to its title! This book tells new and original versions of classic tales about Cinderella, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty, set in the 1920s, 1970s and 1950s, respectively. The illustrations are particularly nice! VEG PATCH PARTY by Clare Foges, illustrated by Al Murphy (Faber & Faber) is a fun story about what vegetables on a farm get up to after the farmer and the animals have gone to bed. If this book is to be believed, they have a fun music and dance festival! The bright cartoony art and catchy rhyming text make it fun to read out loud.
