Supporting women at work has always been an important part of Stylist – not least because, when we launched, women were frustratingly underrepresented and underpaid. Over the past 13 years I have witnessed some positive changes – from gender pay gap reporting to the right to request flexible work – but it is depressing to discover that we are STILL being underpaid and underrepresented. Combine that with the work revolution we have all been part of post-pandemic, one that has not only turned the idea of 9-5 presenteeism on its head but led us all to challenge our own work identities, and it is clear there is still a lot to be done.
