TBA, sony.co.in What am I looking at here? A giant IKEA picture frame? This minimal rectangle isn’t a ‘Fjörksta’, it’s the latest flagship 4K TV (available in three sizes) from Sony. Don’t feel stupid for not recognising it as a telly, though – Sony’s designed it to look as inconspicuous as possible. Only the screen and a thin black bezel are visible from the front, with no speaker grill or stand to be seen. Instead, business takes place at the rear, with a kickstand housing the TV’s guts and subwoofer. Ok, but where are the speakers? After the less-than-well-received modular G5, LG seems to have looked back at their past line-up and taken some inspiration from the popular G2. The new G6 is a return to form. Hmm, that’s just what I said! And we mean it literally! The nearly bezel-less display for starters. This one has an impressive screen-to-body ratio, just like the G2 and bumps it to nearly 79 per cent. It also uses a streamlined aesthetic this time around with a polished unibody design, a far cry from the unwieldy G5. You’d expect them to have a unique look for their flagship device but all smartphones from Sony will share a unified design for now at least.
