Devon’s Treetops Treehouse, described as a ‘multi-storey wooden palace’, is how tree houses should be – rambling and wild, but still wonderfully comfortable. Supported by ancient oak branches, this beautiful structure has a king-sized bed, deep copper bath, plus a fully-kitted out kitchen with outside barbecue on the deck. We also love the location, in the North Devon Biosphere reserve.
For heightened luxury, check in to one of Chewton Glen’s four tree houses. Look closely and you’ll notice these Hampshire hideaways aren’t supported by trees, they’re just surrounded by them. Our favourite of the four is the Treehouse Studio Suite, with its outdoor hot tub, kitchenette, living room and marble bathroom (chewtonglen.com). Looking to improve your cooking? Head to Chewton Glen’s The Kitchen nearby to join one of its cookery…
