Science is no stranger to noise cancelling. Dr Paul Lueg submitted his first patent for wave-cancelling technology way back in 1933, designing a system that could be used to reduce vibrations in loudspeakers; the theory was sound, but the technology of the time did not allow for the equipment to be made. Here’s a thing: have you noticed that the US-only Wyze Cam ($20, pictured) and UK-centric Neos Smartcam look identical? They aren’t. Yes, they use the same core hardware, but there are big differences in their firmware and big differences in their apps; it turns out both are simply rebadged and reprogrammed versions of the Xiaomi Xiaofang 1S.
