Carefully crafted and enticing to the eye, antique perfume bottles impart a tangible portrayal of the ephemeral essence they once contained—making them a stunning choice for collectors. Editorial photo stylist Maghan Armstrong has quite the assemblage, passed down to her by her grandmother who has collected them for over 40 years. After nearly 10 years of living in their charming 1950s home in Greenville, South Carolina, Heather and Jim Storey found that their midcentury floor plan was not conducive for life with young children, and entertaining guests in the original kitchen was less than ideal. So, they called on interior designer Amanda Louise Campbell of Greenville’s Amanda Louise Interiors to help refresh their existing décor and renovate the entire back half of the home, a plan which included adding a powder bath and a keeping room, extending the kitchen, and completely revamping the dining room and living area. “We didn’t want a fully open concept; rather, the goal was to create an effortless flow between rooms,” Amanda Louise says, noting they also worked with a contractor to add outdoor spaces, including…

When Trisha and Marion Dodson bought their weekend cottage in Burton, Texas, they found it lacked a few key elements. “At the time, it was a two-bedroom, two-bath [house], but the [primary bath] didn’t even have a tub or shower,” Trisha says. So, they got to work. Ranging in a myriad of shapes, styles, and sizes, Limoges boxes offer today’s collectors the perfect personal, sentimental treasure. While this charming upscale cottage may reside in the Hamptons area on Long Island, New York, it strays from the typical coastal aesthetic. The Bridgehampton neighborhood provides more of a luxurious countryside feel, so when it came time to redesign this 1990s build, designer Joshua Smith and his team crafted a personalized country-coastal escape for homeowners Doug Eichman and Michael Yount. Despite the distance between them, Texas-based interior designer Sara Johnson didn’t hesitate when an old friend reached out from Chicago, Illinois, with a proposal. “She had been working with a local designer,” says Sara—but that designer had become unavailable. “Even though we’re not in the same city, [the homeowner] thought we would be a good fit to finish the project.” The prospect was attractive in part because Sara already knew what would make her client happy. “I knew she had kind of a preppy flair to her,” Sara says. “She’s also an art history major, and she has worked for some of the auction houses.
