Star letter Family history I was so pleased and surprised to see my mother-in-law, Jane Koster, mentioned in your ‘New Horizons’ article in Issue 92. Her 1940s book Knitting for All - Illustrated inspired your featured designer, Liza Hollinghurst. I have a number of grandma’s books. “MY SUMMER top is knitted using short rows to make a series of parallel and angled lines,” says Emma Vining. The main body is knitted sideways, with full-length stripes and short-row sections; the lines of knitting are emphasised by contrasting shades.
