The new trailer built from The Shed plan and instructions passed its first Warrant of Fitness test with flying colours. A WOF examination includes lights, safety chain, coupling, springs, tyres, wheels, wheel bearings, trailer frame, and a check that the number plate is correct according to registration.
Problems with the lights cause the greatest percentage of warrant failures in trailers, according to Marcus Kavermann, Kingsland station manager of Vehicle Testing New Zealand Ltd.
