From January 23 to 28, the US Figure Skating Championships took place in Columbus, Ohio. There were competitions in singles, pairs, and ice dancing, and three of the four reigning US senior champions skated at the event.
In women’s singles, the winner was Amber Glenn, age 24, a former US junior champion who was making her ninth appearance in the senior competition. She became the first openly LGBTQ skater to win the US women’s title, an honor Glenn described as “incredible.”
