A FAVORITE TRADITION
The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree dazzled the crowd at a lighting ceremony on December 3 in New York City. At 75 feet tall, the Norwegian spruce has 50,000 lights and a 900-pound Swarovski star on top. “It’s a dream come true,” said an onlooker visiting from Ecuador. “I love Christmas.”
KNITTING FOR KITTENS
Readers of Woman’s Weekly magazine knit or crocheted 46,506 toy mice, which were donated to cat shelters across the UK—and set a world record for the most toy mice of their kind. The magazine’s editor, Geoff Palmer, praised readers’ generosity. “Every mouse was handmade with care,” he said.
