The CDC has made sweeping changes to its masking recommendations that allow “most people to ditch their face coverings,” said Spencer Kimball in CNBC.com. Paleontologists in Scotland have unearthed an exceptionally well-preserved fossil of a pterosaur, reports National Geographic. Before they went extinct along with the dinosaurs 66 million years ago, pterosaurs, commonly known as pterodactyls, evolved to have wingspans of a whopping 12 meters. But little was previously known about their earlier evolution. The newly discovered pterosaur lived around 170 million years ago and had a wingspan of more than 2.5 meters—much larger than any other flying reptile found from the Jurassic period. Wearing a hearing aid may cut your risk of developing dementia. Researchers from the universities of Oxford and Ulster in the U.K. looked at data from more than 4,300 American adults with an average age of 68. People with untreated hearing loss were more than twice as likely as those without to develop mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a precursor to dementia.
