I love hacks, and if there’s one hack I do know – it’s how to get mermaid hair even in the middle of winter! I’m super lucky my hair is naturally wavy, so a spritz of sea salt spray while my hair is damp (I like to scrunch it in), normally does the trick. The spray does exactly what it sounds like – it adds that salty ‘I just left the beach’ texture to your hair. Sometimes, I need a bit more help. This is where you can add a little smoothing oil to your hair while it’s wet, style it in two braids or mini plaits, then take out when your hair is dry. You’ll get smooth, shiny waves in no time! Cute glass jar WHAT YOU NEED ★ 6 metres hemp cord – 2-3mm thick ★ 5 different types of fabric 1m x 10cm wide ★ Tacky craft glue ★ Gem glue ★ Small paint brush ★ Scissors ★ 30cm x 1.5cm ribbon ★ Craft butterflies ★ Small glass jar WHAT TO DO Step 1 Cut the pieces of fabrics into strips of 2cm x 20cm. Ariarne Titmus (left) and Melissa Wu (right) are just some of the amazing athletes competing in this year’s Commonwealth Games (catch it from July 28!).
