With Spring well and truly in the air, Saturday 5 March saw a dry, sunny day with a cool, keen wind for the running of the reorganised, renamed Coombes’ Spring Charity Tractor Road Run, writes Anne Bates.
Starting from Chadwell Grange, Newport, by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Richard Maddocks, 81 tractors and six four-wheel drive vehicles descended on the potato farm for the run, which had been delayed from its usual Christmas week date due to the Covid-19 restrictions. It was, once again, supporting the fundraising efforts of the Gnosall & Newport Lions Club – which was raising funds for Prostate Cancer testing and awareness.
