“I’m a single parent of two; an 11-year-old daughter, Lehakoe, and two-year-old son Nkanyiso. From a very young age, Lehakoe was very eager to help around the house. The only issue is consistency. We’ve been working on that from when she was seven. At 11, she knows how to fully prepare herself in the morning for school. She knows how to do basic cooking such as rice, grilled chicken and mince stew. Chores like mopping the floor or sweeping still require monitoring, and I make sure to give her a break because school is also demanding. I’m super thankful to her because she lightens the load for me in the house.”
