Her considerable talent, both with the camera and the paintbrush, captures, at the perfect moment, flowers grown in her garden. I am inspired to create a new flowerbed just for tulips like hers. Upon glimpsing the beautiful three-story, Italianate stucco-over-brick house that stands at 1441 Magazine Street, it’s hard to believe that it was once a fixer-upper. Originally built in 1857 for successful cotton broker Richard Terrell, the structure was known as the Terrell Guest House when Linda O’Brien happened upon its For Sale sign while strolling through the neighborhood one day in 2003. Despite its obvious cosmetic and structural needs, she recognized the property’s potential. The always-active Mississippi native had been looking for a project, and she thought operating an inn might be the perfect direction in which to channel her energy. Because the city of New Orleans had curbed licenses for new bed-and-breakfasts, her only avenue was to find an existing establishment, and this faded beauty fit the bill. Though…

A fairy must have made this, I thought.
