With the coming of summer, I am again reminded of the days when, as a child, I would go fruit picking with my grandmother. I had a little straw basket that I carried, and I would fill it to overflowing with luscious strawberries as we made our way through the garden. For me, this was quite an adventure, lifting the leaves on the low-growing plants in search of the beautiful red berries. Peaches, on the other hand, were easier to gather because the branches of the trees seemed to bow with the heavy fruit, putting each one within my reach. Grandmother would always ensure that I picked enough for a fresh peach pie. Now, when the first warm days arrive, I remember these times with my grandmother as I anticipate…

WELCOME BACK! I JUST WANT to tell you what an influence you have been in my life. When I turned thirteen, my grandmother asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told her that I wanted a subscription to Victoria magazine. Odd request, but then again, I grew up on a diet of Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice. Grandma remembered to renew my subscription every February for the next seven years. Now I’m in my twenties and am working on building my own company.
