Born in Titchfield, Southampton in 1949, his father’s army posting in 1961 took the family to Germany, and it was here that his passion for all things automotive started; he just loved old cars. He drove them, wrote about them and loved to talk about them as well. You could always rely on him for an interesting viewpoint, especially if you were brave enough to utter the word ‘modified’ – a trait not to Robin’s taste. He just loved originality, and that passion never left him.
