‘CROSSBACK’ IS SO last year, darling! The large SUV formerly known as the DS 7 Crossback now has a snappier name and, more usefully, redesigned headlights, a tweaked infotainment system and – on the top-of-the-range version – revised suspension.
The choice of engines remains the same, though, with three petrol plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), with power outputs from 222bhp to 350bhp, plus a 129bhp 1.5-litre diesel.
We’ve driven the most powerful version, the E-Tense 4x4 360, and it certainly launches off the line with plenty of verve, ticking off a 0-62mph sprint in 5.6sec. Although that’s not much quicker than the cheaper E-Tense 4x4 300 (5.9sec), your extra outlay does also get you the new, sportier suspension.
So does that justify the extra cost? No, not really. It’s the lowest…
