In a statement on November 3, Laura Dern said her mother, acclaimed actress Diane Ladd, is “flying with her angels now”, after she passed away at the age of 89.
“My amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother, Diane Ladd, passed with me beside her this morning, at her home,” Dern, 58, shared. “[She was] the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created.”
A three-time Oscar nominee and a BAFTA winner, Ladd was best known for her dramatic roles in Martin Scorsese’s Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (1974), David Lynch’s Wild at Heart (1990) and the Martha Coolidge-directed Rambling Rose (1991).
