About a year ago, I had the opportunity to take a class on 18th-century carving with a well-known carver. Upon returning home, I wanted to continue practicing my skills. Thus began my search for a set of carving tools.
I started by looking at the most well-known name in the carving world — Pfeil. However, with the amount of carving I had done, and my skill level, I couldn’t justify that investment just yet. To my dismay, I initially couldn’t find many other options. But, after a little digging, I found some sets that I think would make good entry-level tools. So here, I want to look at these alternative sets of carving tools and see how they compare.
