One famous club, Parma, and another famous city, Como, will make welcome returns to Serie A next season as the dominant winners and runners-up of this year’s Serie B. In front by December, Parma won the title with two games to spare, three points ahead of Como.
Coached by former Napoli and Juventus player Fabio Pecchia, Parma are yet another famous Italian name to have been rescued by US capital, having been bought by the American tycoon Kevin Krause in 2020. Currently, Milan, Roma and Bologna are also controlled by North American trust funds or corporations.
Parma’s return to Serie A, three years after they were last relegated, represents a major success for Krause, a businessman with Italian roots who appears to have enthusiastically embraced the Parma cause.
