Marine photographers Morris Rosenfeld and his sons, David, Stanley and William, captured the golden age of American yachting from 1881 to 1992. Their vast archive, the Rosenfeld Collection, holds nearly a million images. Among them is this striking photo of Baruna, a 72-foot yawl sailing on Long Island Sound. Originally commissioned by New York textile agent Henry C. Taylor, designed by Olin Stephens of Sparkman & Stephens, and built in 1938 by Quincy Adams Yacht Yard in Massa-chusetts, Baruna was a racing powerhouse and a comfortable family cruiser. The same year it was launched, Baruna dominated the 635-mile Newport Bermuda Race. In 1947, it claimed victory again.
