Jonathan Calugi’s line, often black, is now known even among those who know little about art. An architectural approach for City, the new above-ground swimming pool presented by Piscine Laghetto, an Italian company that belongs to the Fluidra group, designed by Sportium – Progetto CMR and produced in collaboration with Granitech. The concept creates a new product, capable of harmonizing its volume with the environment through the management of voids and solids, materials and finishes. City develops an aesthetic and functional continuity between indoors and out, with a solution that can be adapted to sport, relaxation, well-being and physical rehabilitation. A centuries-old brick house in the heart of London is the subject of the project by the Archi-Tectonics studio. Starting from the historic character of the ancient two-story home, the practice developed the London Solar Townhouse, an ideal prototype of an urban residence in an area with a high population density. Starting from modernist ergonomic criteria, the studio has doubled the original size of the house – which now boasts over 200 square meters of floor space – while leaving intact the original structure, the core from which an extension of the roof develops that wraps around an additional floor and other extensions.
