This is where Mark Allan’s free ClamXav 2 (www.clamxav.com) comes in. Developed as a graphical interface for Sourcefire VRT’s open-source ClamAV antimalware utility, ClamXav doesn’t actively scan incoming downloaded files, but it does comb through your user account, your hard drive, or specified folders as needed. If infected files are hiding on your Mac, ClamXav will find them, describe what they can do, and offer tools to deal with them.
